A Great Sign in the Sky: The Aurora Borealis

“When you see a night illumined by an unknown light (Aurora Borealis), know that this is the great sign given you by God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world”

On the night of January 25th to 26th, 1938, a strange light filled the skies. The sign was a glowing red colour and was seen all over the world from Australia to Fatima and from China to the USA. It was described as a particularly brilliant display of the aurora borealis, the “Northern Lights,” but Sister Lucia realized that it was the “unknown light” foretold by Our Lady during the July 13, 1917 apparition to her, Jacinta, and Francisco.

Sister Lucia informed the Bishop of Fatima about the importance of this sign, and again referred to it in her third memoir, where she said, “Your Excellency is not unaware that, a few years ago, God manifested that sign, which astronomers chose to call an aurora borealis. I don’t know for certain, but I think if they investigated the matter, they would discover that, in the form in which it appeared, it could not possibly have been an aurora borealis. Be that as it may, God made use of this to make me understand that His justice was about to strike the guilty nations. For this reason, I began to plead insistently for the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays, and the consecration of Russia. My intention was to obtain mercy and pardon, not only for the whole world, but for Europe in particular.”

By foretelling the advent of the Second World War through a sign in the sky, which some called the aurora borealis. It was an unmistakable last warning which humanity ignored to its peril. Months later on September 1, 1939 the Second World War broke out, and so began the fulfillment of the dire predictions of Our Lady for the coming years until today of Gods punishment. We have indeed been witness to the prophesies of Fatima over the last 70 years, as we did not heed our Lady’s warning. “If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world” .

The exact amount of dead from the Second World War could be as high as 300 million and even today its effects are still being felt.

The moral situation in the world generally, is far more serious today than it was then, so this only further underlines the importance of all humanity to start living the message of Fatima today, and to cease offending God and to start making reparation for all that offends Him.

The Holy Father Pope John Paul II did indeed in 1984 successfully consecrate the world to Her Immaculate Heart.

The time has come for all to pray and do all Our Lady has asked us to do to help facilitate this era of peace. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
